Good aerodynamics and low weight don't win races – speed is the only thing that matters. That's why we set out to create a compromise-free combination of aerodynamics, minimal weight, stiffness, and flexibility. Our Ride Science team conducted simulations – based on data from real races – and discovered that the Tarmac SL8 is the fastest racing bike ever for the races that truly matter. Imagine this: 16.6 seconds faster over 40 km, 128 seconds faster during Milan-San Remo, 20 seconds faster to the top of the legendary Tourmalet.

• AERODYNAMICS IN EVERY DETAIL: We make things aerodynamic wherever we can – not just where it looks good. Thus, we have now made our most aerodynamic racing bike ever. Yes, even more aerodynamic than the Venge. Thanks to the new Speed Sniffer, the air is optimally used to gain maximum advantage. We have also relocated the steering tube – the tube that determines the width of the head tube – backward. This has allowed us to sharpen the leading edge of the head tube significantly, resulting in much lower air resistance. The Tarmac SL8 also has the most aerodynamic seat post we've ever made (in accordance with the new UCI regulations), so that fast-moving, 'dirty' air around the legs can flow back more cleanly. A new victory is wonderful, isn't it?
• MINIMAL WEIGHT, MAXIMAL AERODYNAMICS: For the Tarmac SL8, we've learned from the Aethos, allowing it to meet UCI minimum requirements while being maximally aerodynamic. The team has built a frame with an unprecedentedly low weight of 685 grams – 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and lighter than all other bikes in the World Tour.* Compared to the Aethos, the down tube, seat tube, and rear of the bike are now much lighter. The frame shape carries the weight so efficiently that additional stiffness layers of carbon are no longer needed. *Except, of course, that time when Kasper Asgreen rode a Tour stage with an Aethos frame of 585 grams.
• GOES LIKE HELL, RIDES LIKE HEAVEN: Thanks to a massive improvement in the stiffness/weight ratio – over 33% compared to the SL7 – the Tarmac SL8 elevates legendary riding characteristics, aggressive responsiveness, and extraordinary geometry to a higher level. The bike is stiffer at the pedals, steers more precisely, and combines these characteristics with a smooth ride for optimal comfort. Thanks to our 'Rider-First Engineering', everyone, regardless of their height, benefits from the same unprecedented ride quality and characteristics. On rough terrain, the Tarmac SL8 absorbs 6% more shocks, making you feel like you're floating over the road. The proven geometry of the Tarmac and tire clearance of 32 mm are identical to that of the SL7, allowing you to easily switch to larger volume tires if needed.
• LOOK BEYOND GENDER: Two male cyclists can differ more from each other than a man and a woman. Just gender is no longer sufficient to specialize, and that's why we believe the idea of bikes specifically for men or women is outdated. Everyone can now benefit from the Tarmac SL8.
