Since 2020, the Rapide CLX has won more races than any other wheel. And we have made it even faster: the new Rapide CLX II. The Rapide CLX II combines the aerodynamics of a TT wheel with the lightweight of a shallower climbing wheel and the superior efficiency and sublime ride quality of a tubeless system - the Rapide CLX II delivers maximum speed for the true rider.
We have developed clearly different shapes for the front and rear rims of the Rapide CLX II. The result is a wheelset that catches less drag than most 65mm wheelsets and is 25% more stable in gusts than 50mm rims.
The Rapide CLX II uses a hooked rim (which allows for tire pressure up to 110 psi), so the tire bead stays secure and setting up and mounting is easier than ever before. And all this in a rim that withstands nearly twice the impact of current industry standards, while still achieving the lightest possible weight.
Our AeroFlange hubs are aerodynamically optimized, with wide bracing angles for more strength and less spoke weight. They also benefit from the reduced weight and increased strength of ceramic SINC bearings and the legendary durability of DT Swiss's internal EXP hub ratchet.
